Where Experience Meets Education
marsh-grouse began in 2009 when a group of broadcast industry veterans recognised a gap in presenter training. Most available courses focused heavily on theory or were designed for complete beginners. Working professionals who wanted to refine their skills had few options.
We created a different kind of training organisation. One built on practical experience, honest feedback, and a genuine understanding of what it takes to succeed in modern broadcasting.
Today, our team includes former newsreaders, documentary presenters, radio hosts, and production specialists. Each brings decades of real-world experience to every training session. When we demonstrate a technique, we draw on having used it ourselves under pressure, often live, with no opportunity for a second take.
Our Approach to Development
We believe that presenter training should feel more like mentorship than education. The relationship between coach and talent must be built on trust, candour, and shared commitment to improvement.
Every person who works with us receives direct, specific feedback. We do not rely on vague encouragement or generic advice. If something is not working, we explain precisely what needs to change and demonstrate how to change it.
This approach demands vulnerability from both parties. Our coaches must be willing to show their own process, including the mistakes they have made and lessons they continue to learn. Presenters must be willing to fail in practice so they can succeed when it matters.

Our Facilities
Training takes place in purpose-built broadcast studios that mirror professional environments. We maintain both television and radio setups, complete with industry-standard equipment, lighting, and control rooms.
Presenters work with the same technology they will encounter in their professional roles. This includes teleprompter systems, multi-camera setups, broadcast-quality microphones, and talkback systems. Nothing in our training is simulated when real equipment serves better.
For corporate clients requesting on-site training, we bring mobile equipment that allows meaningful practice in your own facilities. While our studios offer the most comprehensive experience, we understand that logistical constraints sometimes require flexibility.
